Neurotoxin Post Care Instructions
Immediately After Treatment
- Remain upright for 4 hours after your injections.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours.
- During the first few hours, you may gently move the treated facial muscles (smiling, frowning, or raising your eyebrows) to help the product settle.
Activity Restrictions
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy sweating, alcohol consumption, facials, facial massage, or other facial treatments for 24 hours after treatment.
- Excessive heat exposure such as saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, or hot yoga should also be avoided during this time.
Makeup and Skincare
- Makeup may be applied after 4–6 hours if needed and should be applied gently without rubbing the treated areas.
- Normal skincare routines may typically resume the following day unless otherwise directed.
Possible Temporary Effects
- You may notice mild swelling, redness, or small bumps at the injection sites immediately after treatment. These usually resolve within a few hours.
- Minor bruising may occasionally occur.
- Some patients may experience a mild headache; acetaminophen may be taken if needed.
Results Timeline
- Initial results may begin to appear within 3–5 days.
- Full results are typically visible within 10–14 days.
When to Contact the Office
- Contact the office if you experience persistent swelling, severe pain, signs of infection, eyelid drooping, or any unusual or concerning symptoms.
