Dermal filler post-care instructions
Immediately after treatment (first 24 hours)
Do not touch, press, or massage the treated areas unless instructed.
Apply a cold compress for 10–15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.
Avoid strenuous exercise, heat exposure such as saunas or hot tubs, and alcohol.
Keep your head elevated when lying down.
Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours.
First 24–48 hours
Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising are normal.
Avoid excessive facial movements or pressure such as facials or tight masks.
Stay well hydrated.
First 3–5 days
Avoid dental work or facial treatments.
Minimize salt intake to help reduce swelling.
Continue avoiding extreme heat or sun exposure.
First 2 weeks
Avoid massaging the area unless directed.
Results will continue to settle, and any asymmetry or firmness may improve during this time.
What to expect
Temporary swelling or bruising
Mild tenderness or firmness
Final results are typically visible within 1–2 weeks
When to contact your provider
Severe or increasing pain
Significant asymmetry after swelling subsides
Skin discoloration such as white, gray, or dusky areas
Signs of infection including fever, warmth, or pus
Additional tips
Arnica or bromelain may help reduce bruising
Avoid blood thinners if medically appropriate for a few days
